Boxing gloves!

Ever wondered why babies have to wear those cute little boxing glove like things? It's not to make them look like Mohd Ali wannabes!

Babies should wear mittens up to two months of age (at least) as it is at that age that they are trying to learn the world around them through their sense of touch.

Mittens keep them safe and prevent their little (and very sharp!) nails from scratching on themselves (and you!). Heat is often lost through the top of the head and soles of the feet, so it is important to keep little feet warm. Booties are useful when your baby's sleep pants and rompers do not come with 'built in socks'.

Try to get mittens and booties as small as possible for newborns. And get a few sets because these tend to get lost in the wash!
